Method

Using a jigger, measure the tequila, rum, blue curaçao, and Cointreau into a mixing glass. Add the lime juice and sour mix.

Add ice to the mixing glass. Stir the ingredients vigorously with a bar spoon for about 15-20 seconds, until well-chilled.

Strain the chilled mixture into a martini glass using a strainer.

Garnish with an orange twist. Gently twist the orange peel over the drink to release the oils, then add the peel to the glass.
Chef's Notes
- For a less alcoholic version, reduce the amount of tequila and rum.
- If you don't have Cointreau, a different orange liqueur like Triple Sec can be used, though the flavor profile will vary slightly.
- Using quality ingredients is key to a great cocktail. Freshly squeezed lime juice makes a significant difference.
