Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes.

Add 59ml of tequila, 30ml of lime juice, and 15ml of triple sec into the shaker.

Secure the lid and shake the ingredients vigorously until the outside of the shaker feels very cold.

If using salt, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip the edge into the salt.

Strain the mixture and the ice directly into the prepared glass.

Place a lime wedge on the rim of the glass to garnish.
Chef's Notes
- Using fresh lime juice rather than bottled concentrate significantly improves the flavor profile.
- For a cleaner presentation, you can double-strain into a glass with fresh ice instead of using the shaker ice.
